No Klopp miracle at Liverpool, insists Adam Lallana

The Reds were 6-1 winners against Southampton on Wednesday evening.

Adam Lallana has told Sky Sports that Jurgen Klopp is not working miracles at Liverpool.

The German manager has swiftly turned things around at Anfield since replacing Brendan Rodgers at the club earlier in the campaign.

These last few weeks have seen his most impressive performances to date, with a 4-1 win over Manchester City and then a 6-1 demolition of Southampton in the Capital One Cup.

Such has been the level of change in the side, many have been left wondering just how Klopp has managed to turn things around so drastically in such a short space of time.

But while it may look like a miracle is being worked, Lallana insists that isn’t the case.

“We started sloppily, but showed great character. Studge [Daniel Sturridge] showed what he is about and credit to Divock as well,” he told Sky Sports.

"We have strength in depth if you look at the bench. We want to keep the momentum we have gained.”

“It is not a miracle what he {Klopp} has done, he has come in and put his ethos into the squad. We know we still have some way to go."

Given the form Liverpool are now enjoying under Klopp, it is hard to write them off in the title race this season.

They are currently sixth in the table, with 23 points to their name after fourteen games so far.

That leaves them just four points behind Arsenal in fourth place, and only six behind Manchester City and Leicester City who are joint top of the table.

That means they are very much in the race, even if it would have seemed unlikely at the beginning of the season.
