The Borussia Dortmund player is impressed with Liverpool's current first-team options.
Gundogan has played 24 matches for Dortmund so far this season and has appeared 141 times in total, scoring 14 goals and providing 19 assists in the process.
With Liverpool now managed by former Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp, the Reds were always going to be linked with some of the Bundesliga club’s star names, and Gundogan has fuelled the flames of speculation despite seeming to dodge a question about any future move to Merseyside.
Refusing to be drawn on the speculation the German international simply said of Liverpool, “They have a good team, a great coach.”
Reds fans are starting to see that with Klopp inspiring his side to a 6-1 victory against Southampton in the Capital One Cup earlier this week.
Last month they overcame Manchester City 4-1 and this is a far more confident Liverpool squad than their fans saw during Brendan Rodgers’ final few months at the helm.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Gundogan, who has 18 months left on his current contract, but Klopp will know the quality at Dortmund and may well look to move for some of their players in due course.
