Lukaku has been in marvellous form for Everton so far this season, and Drogba has been impressed by his old teammate’s improvement.
Drogba and Lukaku worked alongside each other at Chelsea, and the Ivorian striker says that at that stage the 22-year-old still needed to develop to fulfil his potential.
"I remember he had a lot to work on technically when he first signed for Chelsea, but he has got his reward for that," Drogba said.
"I texted him a few weeks ago when he gave that pass to Arouna Kone with his left foot and I told him: 'The day you do that with your right foot…!' I told him he is on the way to becoming one of the greatest in this league."
Lukaku has netted 13 times in 18 appearances for Everton so far this season, and he has scored in each of his last five outings.
He has fully established himself as Everton’s main striking threat, and it seems that he is becoming a complete player.
Lukaku’s power and pace has caused defences big problems throughout the season so far, and if he can continue to keep hitting the back of the net so frequently, then it should stand the Toffees in good stead.
Everton are currently in ninth place in the Premier League table, and their next fixture comes against Crystal Palace on Monday evening.
