Gillingham are bracing themselves for interest in midfield star Bradley Dack when the transfer window re-opens next month, with several Championship sides trailing the player, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Dack has been Gillingham's standout performer this season and the skilful midfielder is regarded as one of the best young talents outside of the top two leagues in the county.
Dack caught the eye last season, being named the Young Player and Players' Player of the Year, and he has continued his rapid rise this term.
The 21-year-old has scored 10 goals so far this season and has laid on five assists to help Gillingham maintain their push for promotion.
Several Championship clubs expressed an interest in Dack before the close of summer transfer window, and his suitors have continued to keep tabs on his progress.
Bristol City and Huddersfield Town have been credited with holding an interest in Dack in the past, and clubs are expected to make bids for the goalscoring midfielder in the New Year.
Dack is under contract at Priestfield until 2018 and Gillingham are reluctant to lose their prized asset as they aim to keep their promotion bid on track.
