The Spaniard was the star of the show in the 2-0 win over Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening.
The young Spaniard joined on a permanent deal from Barcelona, having previously enjoyed a loan spell at Goodison Park in 2013/14.
He has been in impressive form from the start of the season, with him currently sitting on nine assists in all competitions this season.
It is his relationship with striker Romelu Lukaku that has most caught they eye, with Deulofeu having assisted the vast majority of the Belgian’s goals this season.
However Martinez says it is the winger’s consistency this season that has impressed him most.
“Gerard is a young man in terms of the amount of games that he’s played at this level, but as a natural talent, he’s as good as it gets,” he told Talksport.
“Two years ago we knew he was a young man with incredible natural talent. Now he’s not a young man anymore, he’s young in age, but very mature.”
“He has been very consistent, and that’s probably the aspect that impressed me most in Gerard Deulofeu’s performance.”
While Everton will be delighted with the kind of performances Deulofeu has been putting in, they will fear for the future.
It has been widely reported that Barcelona have an option to take him back to the club in the future, and this kind of form will have attracted their interest.
Deulofeu would know that he is unlikely to see much game time with the La Liga champions though, unlike the guaranteed first team place he is currently enjoying at Goodison Park.
And Everton will hope that convinces to turn down any overtures from his old club.
