Former winger Robert Pires has named as many as six former Arsenal teammates in his one2eleven of best players he has ever played with, Sky Sports report.
The former France international joined Arsenal from Marseille in 2000 and spent six seasons in North London, winning the Premier League twice and the FA Cup three times.
But his most memorable campaign came during the club’s Invincible reign as they went the entire 2003-04 campaign without suffering a single defeat in the league.
Pires has played with a number of excellent players throughout his career, yet the bulk of that superb Arsenal team makes up the majority of his one2eleven, as requested by Sky Sports.
The team is here as follows, lining up in a 4-2-2-2 formation:
A number of those Arsenal players were crucial to the club’s success in the latter days at Highbury, and they will be fondly remembered for years to come.
The likes of Vieira, Henry and Adams were widely regarded as being among the best in the Premier League in their respective positions and were instrumental both on and off the pitch.
The current Arsenal team is unfortunately a far cry from the powerhouse which went the entire league campaign unbeaten, and how they could do with a Vieira or Gilberto Silva amid their injury crisis.
