Report: West Ham United have no money to spend in the January transfer window

West Ham United spent their transfer budget for the season in the summer, according to a report.

According to a report in the Telegraph, West Ham United do not have any funds to spend in the January transfer window.

The Hammers invested heavily in their first team squad over the summer, and their spend has meant that bringing in new players in January could be difficult.

West Ham are currently struggling with a series of injuries to key players, but it seems that Slaven Bilic will be forced to find replacements from within his own squad.

West Ham are currently without Diafra Sakho, Dimitri Payet and Enner Valencia – meaning their attacking options have been seriously weakened by injury.

However, as well as having no transfer funds to spend, Bilic also cannot bring in any more domestic-based players on loan, after using up his allowance.

It means that the Hammers may have to look to the free agent market if they are to sign anyone in January, with Emmanuel Adebayor said to still be on their radar by the Telegraph.

West Ham are currently in eighth place in the Premier League table, meaning they would be an attractive club to join for most players, if they had money to invest in January.
