Despite his fondness for the San Siro club, teammate Diego Lopez recently told reporters that Balotelli’s dream is to play for Real Madrid, according to the British editorial Talksport.
And now his agent Raiola has weighed in, telling the Italian press that Balotelli’s desire to join arguably the biggest club in the world is only logical before stating he hopes one day it comes true.
“Balotelli? He dreams of Real Madrid? For every big name player it's almost logical to dream of Real. Since he said this to Diego Lopez, let's hope it happens someday,” he explained.
In spite of Balotelli’s wish to move to the Santiago Bernabeu, the chances of it happening are quite slim as his career has gone downhill somewhat over the past few years.
The controversial striker helped Manchester City to win the Premier League title and shone for the Italian national team a Euro 2012, scoring two goals in a memorable 2-1 semi-final win over Germany.
However, a move to AC Milan followed by a switch to Liverpool hasn’t really worked out.
The 25-year-old has only scored 28 league goals in the past three-and-half seasons, which is hardly the prolific scoring record that would convince Madrid to seek a deal for the striker.
