Jamie Carragher reacts on Twitter as Gary Neville is appointed by Valencia

Liverpool legend will say goodbye to his former Manchester United foe turned Sky Sports pal.

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher used to be embittered rivals for more than a decade as Manchester United and Liverpool battled it out.

Over the last two years they have become unlikely pals, forming a must see pundit duo on Sky Sports on Monday nights.

That will be no more, after La Liga club Valencia announced the shock news via their official website Gary Neville will be taking over as manager until the end of the season.

Carragher took to Twitter after the news was announced, admitting he was gutted with the news, before making light of it, comparing Neville to a former Liverpool reserve goalkeeper.

Neville will be assisted by brother Phil Neville, who had been working as assistant at Valencia since the summer.

Manchester United wished the pair luck in helping Valencia climb up the table from where they currently sit in eighth place.

As for the biggest question left in football? It's now who will replace Gary Neville to partner Jamie Carragher on Monday nights...?
