A former Queens Park Rangers manager has been speaking about the possibility of another man taking the helm.

Former Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has taken to Twitter to have his say on the possibility of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink taking over at Loftus Road.

As reported by the BBC on Wednesday morning, the Championship side have opened talks with the Burton Albion boss after his current club allowed QPR to make their approach, and Redknapp for one is excited by the possibility of the former Chelsea striker taking the helm.

Writing on social media, Redknapp said, “If Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink goes to QPR I’m sure he’d do a good job; he’s done very well at Burton. It’d be a good move for whoever gets it.”

Hasselbaink’s record at Burton is brilliant, with the Dutchman guiding them to the League Two title last season and the top of League One a year on.

With that kind of record it is no wonder QPR are interested but it will ultimately be up to Hasselbaink to decide if this is the right challenge for him at this stage of his career.

QPR are currently 12th in the Championship, five points below the play-off places but with plenty of football still to be played.
