None of the trio were actually involved in the match against Wednesday, but they were able to witness a very good display.

Wednesday have been in excellent form of late – and have already upset Newcastle United and Arsenal this season – but Stoke were rarely challenged.

Mark Hughes’ side showed their class throughout the fixture, and they scored their goals through Ibrahim Afellay and Phil Bardsley.

Stoke will now be looking forward to the semi-final draw, which takes place on Wednesday evening after Liverpool’s match against Southampton.

Everton and Manchester City are the other two sides to have already booked their place in the final four.
