QPR identified Hasselbaink as their top target following the departure of Chris Ramsey three weeks ago.
And it seems that the former Holland international could complete a move to Loftus Road in the near future.
Hasselbaink is reportedly set to take charge of his last Burton match on Tuesday evening, when the Brewers face Millwall.
If Hasselbaink can sign off with a win, he will leave Burton sitting at the top of the League One table.
The job that awaits him at QPR looks to be a tough one, but it is apparently a project which has sparked the former Chelsea striker’s interest.
Hasselbaink will be tasked with guiding QPR up from the Championship to the Premier League.
At the moment, QPR are five points off the play-offs, and they won their last match against Leeds United.
QPR’s next fixture comes against Reading on Thursday night, and it seems likely that interim boss Neil Warnock will remain in charge for that contest, but Hasselbaink is expected to be in place by the time the R’s face Burnley on December 12th.
