Mark Bosnich has told talkSPORT that the only way that Aston Villa can avoid relegation from the Premier League at the end of the season is by signing two or two world-class players in the January transfer window.
“No disrespect to Remi, but he wasn’t the right man to bring in while they are in so much trouble,” Bosnich told talkSPORT. “You have seen the effect Sam Allardyce already has had at Sunderland.
“I don’t think they have got it in them nor do I think they have the ability to get out of the problem they are in. One victory all season tells a story in itself.
“They are in a really, really bad rut. Unless they get two or three proper world class players in in January, which I doubt is going to happen, then they are going to go down.”
Villa are struggling for form and for points at the moment and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Villans are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with just five points from 14 matches.
Garde’s side are as many as seven points behind 17th-place Sunderland, and the signs are not good.
There are some good players in the current Villa squad, but it remains to be seen if Garde can get them going again.
Confidence is low among the players given the poor results so far this season, and the new Villa manager may have to dip into the transfer market in January in order to reinforce the squad.
