Everton forward Lukaku has been a real star this season.
Kilbane said: “Lukaku is a student of the game. His overall game is coming to the fore. In the air he is formidable, his game is getting better. That, in turn, is adding to the goals he scored last season. The goals are just highlighting how good a performer he has been this season.”
Lukaku has scored an incredible 10 goals in just 14 games this season, also registering four assists, but he has gone somewhat under the radar in relation to other forwards.
Whilst the likes of Jamie Vardy and Sergio Aguero have been winning plaudits every time they take to the field, Lukaku has been forgotten despite his excellent displays of goalscoring.
Much like Everton as a team, the 22-year-old is performing far better than people realise, and he could easily reach the 25-goal mark this season if he keeps up his form for the entire campaign.
However, Kilbane has high praise for the forward, claiming that he is now a far more all-rounded striker than he has ever shown before, having learnt from his understanding as a ‘student of the game’.
Kilbane has high praise for Lukaku’s strength in the air, and the former Everton man can only see the young striker get better and better over the coming seasons.
People forget that Lukaku is still just 22, and if he continues his incredible upward trajectory, he could realistically become one of the best strikers in the world in just a few years.
