Could the Spaniard be on his way to Liverpool in January?
The 34-year-old certainly has plenty of experience and he would give Reds boss Jurgen Klopp a fine alternative to current number one Simon Mignolet, but it remains to be seen if Liverpool would make that move or instead go for a younger alternative – such as Stoke City stopper Jack Butland.
Lopez started the season as AC Milan’s first choice but more recently he was dropped to the bench before being ruled out of the last three matches with injury.
The Calcio Mercato report claims that with Liverpool searching for a new ‘keeper and their striker Mario Balotelli currently on loan at Milan, the Reds could do a quick bit of negotiating and get the experienced Spaniard in a deal that took the Italian international back to Serie A permanently.
It may be stretch, but Lopez is certainly experienced enough to be a solid addition to Liverpool’s squad, having previously played for Villarreal, Sevilla and most famously Real Madrid.
But this one may need to be taken with a sizeable pinch of salt…
