The Everton youngster filled his boots earlier this week.
Everton’s under-21 side overcame their Widnes counterparts in the quarter-finals of the Liverpool Senior Cup earlier this week in fine style, scoring eight with no reply.
The star of the show was hat-trick hero Calum Dyson, who netted all three of his goals in the second half to put real gloss on an emphatic team performance.
Everton were already 5-0 up after strikes from Sam Byrne, Anton Evans, Conor McAleny and Callum Connolly (2) but Everton’s next generation did not let up and Dyson ultimately filled his boots.
The Toffees have a number of exciting young players coming through the ranks right now and Dyson is certainly in that category.
The 19-year-old is predominantly a centre forward although he can also operate on the right wing if required, and while he had only found the net once in 19 previous matches at this level it seems he is now discovering his scoring-form having been sent out on loan to Chester FC.
Only time will tell if Dyson has what it takes to make it at Goodison Park but his latest performance was certainly a step in the right direction.
