Ander Herrera responds to reports he is unhappy at Manchester United

The Spanish midfielder has had his say after suggestions he was seeking showdown talks at Manchester United.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has responded to speculation that he is unhappy at Old Trafford and is seeking showdown talks with his manager Louis van Gaal.

That was the claim of the Daily Star this week, with their report suggesting the Spaniard no longer knew his role at Old Trafford and wanted to sit down and clarify things with his boss.

But the former Athletic Bilbao star has wasted little time putting the rumours to bed, taking to Twitter on Tuesday morning to emphatically deny the claims.

Citing a recent interview in which he stated how he felt at United, Herrera wrote, “Interview given last week; very happy at Manchester United.”

So there you have it. In just nine words Herrera has seemingly put to bed the latest murmurings that he is not enjoying his time under van Gaal.

So far this season Herrera has played 14 times for United, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the process.

An injury suffered against Watford kept him out of the recent clash with Leicester City but prior to that he started against Everton, Manchester City and Crystal Palace, so to suggest he is out of favour would be incorrect.
