The agent of Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno says his client would feel great joy should Real Madrid come knocking, but feels a January transfer would be difficult, Tuttomercatoweb report.
The former Sevilla left-back has had a rather testing time in the Premier League, but his performances over the past few weeks have been nothing short of outstanding.
Jurgen Klopp has installed him as the regular left-back, and Moreno’s displays have repaid the faith shown in him after initially losing his place under former boss Brendan Rodgers to youngster Joe Gomez.
However, Moreno’s form hasn’t gone unnoticed, and the Metro cite Real Madrid as potential suitors.
Speaking on a potential switch to the Bernabeu, the Spaniard’s agent Javier Moya has rather deviously fuelled talk by suggesting his client would feel delighted should Madrid come in for him.
“If Real Madrid make an offer, it would be a joy for him,” TMW quote Javier Moya as saying.
“If a team like Real Madrid speak with us and Liverpool are satisfied with the operation, they could talk. Regarding January, however, I believe a potential move would be complicated.”
Real Madrid are a little short on left-back options, with Marcelo their only real standout candidate following Fabio Coentrao’s summer move to French outfit Monaco.
Moreno was superb in La Liga ahead of his move to Liverpool, and considering his still only 23 and possesses bags of potential, it’s easy to understand why Madrid might be interested.
However, he seems happy on Merseyside and the Reds are embarking on a new chapter in their history under new boss Jurgen Klopp – surely a big enough reason to want to stick around.
