Yannick Bolasie keen to see Lee Chung-yong in Crystal Palace's first team

Crystal Palace's Lee Chung-yong has made just four Premier League appearances so far this season.

Yannick Bolasie has told Sky Sports that he is hoping that Lee Chung-yong comes into Crystal Palace’s side in the coming weeks.

Palace are in need of options out wide, with Wilfried Zaha and Bakary Sako both ruled out of Alan Pardew’s side’s next match against Everton.

Zaha is suspended for the match against the Toffees, while Sako is set to be ruled out with injury.

And Bolasie said: “It's tough right now but hopefully someone like Chungy [Lee Chung-yong] can come in and step up to the plate and that's the reason why we have such a good squad.”

Chung-yong has played seven times for Palace so far this season, but only four of those appearances have come in the Premier League.

The former Bolton Wanderers winger is yet to show his best form in an Eagles shirt, but he will be hoping that he can prove his worth if given the nod by Pardew.

Chung-yong will be under pressure to perform to a high standard if he is to keep his place, as Palace’s wingers have been in superb form of late.

Bolasie and Zaha tore into Newcastle United at the weekend, and were key reasons why Pardew’s men were able to pick up a 5-1 victory in the contest.
