Leigh Griffiths has scored 19 times in 28 matches for Celtic this season.
Griffiths currently tops the Bhoys’ scoring charts, and he has netted 19 times in 28 matches.
However, the Scotland international blamed himself for costing Celtic victory against Ajax in the Europa League in midweek.
Griffiths was guilty of missing a number of chances against Ajax, but he bounced back from that disappointment, by hitting the back of the net in Celtic’s 3-1 win over Inverness at the weekend.
And Deila said: “Leigh has been brilliant this season, he scores almost every game.
“Yes, he had some chances against Ajax but every striker misses some chances. He worked hard, he has a good attitude and that is really what you can expect from every player every time.
“Ups and downs in performance will happen but again he has bounced back and I’m happy for him and I’m happy for the team.”
Celtic’s win over Inverness has helped to relieve some of the pressure that the squad came under after their defeat to Ajax.
Bhoys supporters remain highly disappointed by their failure to make it out of their Europa League group, but Deila’s side’s consistent excellence in domestic action serves as a small consolation.
Celtic are well on course to defend their SPFL title again, and they currently have a seven point lead at the top of the table.
Celtic’s next match comes Hamilton, where they will be looking to extend their domestic unbeaten run to 12 matches.
