Tottenham Hotspur were only able to claim a 0-0 draw against Chelsea at the weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has told the club’s official site that the entire team were disappointed with their failure to beat Chelsea.
Tottenham were held to a 0-0 with Jose Mourinho’s side at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
And, while the result may have been reflected on with satisfaction in previous seasons, expectations have been raised at Tottenham this time around.
The Lilywhites have looked like one of the most threatening teams in the Premier League this campaign, and Lloris says that none of the squad were pleased to share the spoils against their London rivals.
“We showed more qualities," the French stopper insisted. "We tried to play but unfortunately we couldn’t score and the feeling in the changing room is one of disappointment.
“On the pitch we feel that, despite the European game, we had control of the match. We weren’t as fresh as we normally are but at the end of the day when you can’t win it’s important not to lose.”
Tottenham went into the match with Chelsea as the favourites to win, but they failed to show their best in the fixture.
Although Mauricio Pochettino’s men still put in a decent display, their attacking play was not quite as effective as it has been this season.
Spurs seemed to suffer with fatigue after playing in the Europa League on Thursday evening, and they were not able to overcome a resilient Chelsea side.
The draw was hardly a poor result though, and it has extended Tottenham unbeaten streak in the league to 13 matches, while moving them to within two points of the top four.
