The Belgian bagged a goal and two assists in the Manchester United youth side's 3-2 victory over the Liverpool under-21s
Marouane Fellaini looked sharp during a surprise appearance for the Manchester United under-21 side against Liverpool.
And Fellaini did not disappoint, with a goal and two assists in United's 3-2 win over their arch-rivals.
Nick Powell, Andreas Pereira and Sergio Romero were also included in the side, yet it was the former Everton man who took centre stage.
It took just over half an hour for Fellaini to score the game's opener, combining with Pereira to volley home with aplomb.
Powell then pounced in the second half for United's second, after scoring from the rebound of a Fellaini shot.
With just over 10 minutes to go, the game appeared to be sewn up yet Liverpool came roaring back – helped by some questionable keeping from Romero - with two goals in three minutes to set up a tense finale.
But the Belgian kept his cool and proved to be the difference yet again after teeing up Sean Goss for the winner.
It proved to be a worthwhile exercise for the Belgian, who will now head into the weekend's fixture with renewed confidence.
