Former Tottenham boss Ossie Ardiles has criticised Chelsea's approach against his old team.
Ardiles took to Twitter to praise Tottenham's display, given that they returned from playing a Europa League game in Azerbaijan just days earlier.
He felt the performance from the reigning champions was however far less impressive, suggesting they only came for a draw.
Was in The Lane today, of course. Poor game. However from @SpursOfficial perspective not bad considering the team arrived back from abroad— osvaldo ardiles (@osvaldooardiles) November 29, 2015
Friday morning. Players did not have time enough to recover. Chelsea:A touch embarrassing to see the champions of England playing for a draw— osvaldo ardiles (@osvaldooardiles) November 29, 2015
Tottenham are one of the teams Chelsea will be aiming to overhaul over the remainder of the season, and as such, could not afford to slip 13 points behind them.
Last season Chelsea were hammered 5-3 at White Hart Lane, and knew only too well that the same fate could befall them if they took too many risks. They too had a long flight in the week, playing in Israel.
Chelsea certainly did not play an expansive game, having only one shot on target, reflective of their team not including a recognised striker, with Diego Costa left on the bench throughout.
