The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder could be set for another spell out of the squad but only time will tell.
The 24-year-old started for Spurs in place of the suspended Dele Alli but he lasted less than an hour before being replaced by Erik Lamela.
Mason has already suffered one injury this season that ruled him out of four league matches, and he will not want to spend another spell on the side-lines just when he has forced his way back into the starting line-up, albeit in Alli’s absence.
The Mail has published a comment Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino gave after the match when he was asked about the severity of Mason’s injury, to which he said he “hoped it was not a big issue”.
That remains to be seen, but with games coming thick and fast for Tottenham they will want all their first-team players available with the busy festive period just around the corner.
Next up for Tottenham is a visit to The Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion but for now it is unclear if Mason will be available for that clash.
