West Brom are reportedly targeting Bordeaux hitman Diego Rolan.

According to The Sun, West Bromwich Albion are weighing up a move for Bordeaux striker Diego Rolan having watched him against Liverpool on Thursday.

The Baggies brought in two new strikers over the summer as Jose Salomon Rondon and Rickie Lambert both made moves to The Hawthorns, but manager Tony Pulis may still need more attacking options.

With just 12 goals in the Premier League this season, only Stoke City have scored fewer this term, and Pulis is now looking for more firepower ahead of the January transfer window.

The Sun report that Baggies scout Andy Thorn took a trip to Anfield on Thursday, and he was there to watch Bordeaux striker Diego Rolan in action against Liverpool.

The Uruguayan, 22, has impressed in Ligue 1 since his 2013 move from Defensor Sporting, but couldn't help Bordeaux avoid a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Europa League on Thursday.

With pace and the ability to play up front or out wide, Rolan is a versatile attacking threat - and possibly the ideal replacement for Saido Berahino.

The Sun note that West Brom are bracing themselves for January interest in their English forward, and are eyeing up Rolan as a prime target should they end up selling Berahino in the New Year.
