The Black Cats got the better of 10-man Stoke 2-0 at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League.
Patrick van Aanholt put Sunderland in the lead in the 82nd minute, and Duncan Watmore secured the three points with the second just two minutes later.
Former Sunderland striker Gabbiadini as following the match, and he was overjoyed with the final result.

Former Sunderland star Kevin Kilbane was also watching the game, and he was impressed with the performance of 21-year-old attacker Watmore.
"Watmore has talent and is so direct,” said Kilbane on Final Score. “He has pace and when he gets beyond defenders he finishes expertly.”
Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Stadium of Light, hosts Sunderland had 48% of the possession, took 18 shots of which just five were on target, and earned nine corners.
Sunderland are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment with 12 points from 14 matches, two points above the relegation zone.
