Everton dropped two points from a winning position against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
Everton missed the chance to go sixth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon after conceding a late equaliser at Bournemouth.
It was an incredible six-goal thriller, as the Cherries earned a 3-3 draw against the Toffees. But many felt Everton should have left with all three points, especially after appearing as though they had scored a late winner.
That goal was over-celebrated and Everton paid the price.
And, on Twitter after the game, plenty of fans vented their frustration at goalkeeper Tim Howard once again. Indeed, the American was obviously not the only man at fault, while the overall draw can't be blamed on him.
But the 36-year-old's role in the third goal was once again questioned and Everton supporters are losing patience with him more and more each week. It looks as though most fans would jump at the chance of replacing Howard were they offered the opportunity in January.
Their frustration is heightened, however, by the fact boss Roberto Martinez remains a huge fan of his goalkeeper. Here's how Everton supporters reacted to the shot stopper's performance v Bournemouth on social media:
I wonder if Howard wants to sit down and discuss his part in the goals today and still be happy with the job he's doing? #efc— Debbie (@CarmellaBlue) November 28, 2015
Joel will be in goal Tuesday. Not that it matter because no matter what he does Tim Howard will come straight back in.— Ryan lowe (@Ryanlowe1878) November 29, 2015
Tim Howard will definitely be going back to the States at the end of this season, unfortunately for us it'll just be a holiday.— Just Dave (@SirDaveStephen) November 29, 2015
@TimHowardGK no malice or nastiness here, but after your words earlier. Would you sit down with me and watch your performances...— CJ. Everton. (@cj87EFC) November 29, 2015
Woke up to news that were linked with Jack Butland then I remembered that Martinez is in love with Tim Howard. I'm going back to bed— Paul Brown (@PaulBrownEFC) November 29, 2015
Just watching yesterday's game again. I hate tim howard. I think if we are a great gk away from winning things.— Sean Ready (@ready1878) November 29, 2015
