The Celtic forward wasn't happy on Twitter and the Bhoys' opposition got involved.
Indeed, forward Anthony Stokes took to social media with a rant about being brought to Inverness only to sit in the stands.
Stokes also hit back at a fan and used an expletive in another tweet but his first one was picked up by Celtic's opposition on Sunday.
And Inverness's official Twitter account responded sarcastically to the frustrated 27-year-old.
Thanks for your support.....enjoy the game. https://t.co/UH8Oo4nH8r— Official ICTFC (@ICTFC) November 29, 2015
Buzzing to be brought all the way up to inverness with the team to sit in the stands today, lovely weather for it too...— Anthony Stokes (@stoksey10) November 29, 2015
Is Stokes right to be frustrated? Celtic's forward line have been misfiring of late and there is certainly a case for his inclusion if he is working as hard in training as he claims in his tweets.
However, it's not as though the Bhoys couldn't score without him against Inverness. Carlton Cole even got on the scoresheet late on, which has perhaps sealed Stokes' Parkhead fate.
A January exit might be the best move for the 27-year-old if he does desperately want first-team football.
As for Ronny Deila's side, victory provided a welcome change in mood after their Europa League exit. But it won't be enough to silence the doubters. Inverness are one thing, how about Celtic's European opponents?
