Crystal Palace thrashed Newcastle United 5-1 this afternoon.
Newcastle United's woes continued this afternoon as they were hammered 5-1 away at Crystal Palace, with Alan Pardew haunted his former club.
The Magpies were thrashed 3-0 by Leicester City last weekend, and things didn't get any better for Steve McClaren at Selhurst Park.
It all started so well for Newcastle as Papiss Cisse gave them the lead, but it was all downhill from there as Palace - who have struggled at home this season - ran riot.
James McCarthur hit back for Palace with the equaliser, and Yannick Bolasie put the Eagles in front just three minutes later as Pardew's men took control.
Goals from Wilfried Zaha and Bolasie either side of half time made it 4-1 to Palace, and McCarthur then grabbed his second in the dying stages of the game to hand Newcastle another thrashing.
Ex-Newcastle Pardew will be delighted to have beaten his former club, but the pressure is once again mounting on current boss McClaren.
With just two wins this season, Newcastle are in real danger of suffering relegation back to the Championship unless McClaren can turn thing around, or if the Magpies hierarchy choose to replace him.
