Troy Deeney reacts on Twitter to Watford win, sends Villa fans message

The Watford striker netted against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

Troy Deeney took to Twitter with the above post to celebrate Watford's 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

Deeney clearly has mixed feelings for Villa and showed as much in his celebration.

But, as far as his current side are concerned, things couldn't be better. Quique Sanchez Flores' side are up to 11th in the Premier League after their fifth win of the league season.

Aston Villa, however, are bottom of the table with just five points to their name from 14 league games. That leaves Remi Garde's side five points off their nearest rivals.

Deeney did thank the Aston Villa fans for their reception towards goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

Is there any hope for Villa? What awaits them in the Championship if they can't survive the drop?

Watford have set the example to follow when it comes to showing the requisite solidity to stay up. Their season is far from over, of course, and things could still go wrong for the Hornets. But Flores has got his side so organised it's difficult not to see them carry on picking up results.

Just like it's difficult to imagine Aston Villa starting to pick up results...
