The Hornets striker is an avid Birmingham fan and could not hide his delight at scoring at Villa Park.
The Hornets were deserved winners at Villa Park, running out 3-2 victors against Remi Garde’s side.
That win over Villa extended the home side’s winless run this season, with them now without a victory since the opening game of the season.
It was a particularly pleasing win for Deeney, who is an avid Birmingham City fan, and the Watford forward could not hide his delight in his post game interview.
“I cant explain how good that was,” he told BBC Sport.
"Their fans gave me stick all the way through, which lets me know I am doing something right.”
"It was a tough game and we showed real character. It is a massive three points. We pressed hard up the pitch and managed the game well."
The result leaves Watford 11th in the table with 19 points to their name, an impressive tally for a newly promoted team.
They are currently sat higher than Premier League mainstays Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, Swansea City and Chelsea, something that is sure not to have been missed by their fans.
In contrast, things are looking bleak for Villa, who now sit seven points from safety, with Sunderland picking up three vital points against Stoke.
Even the most optimistic of their fans must now be concerned about their current plight, with them looking short in numerous areas this season.
