Jamie Vardy

Leicester City will take on Manchester United on Saturday with Jamie Vardy looking to set a new Premier League record.

Alan Shearer and Glenn Hoddle have wished Jamie Vardy good luck on Twitter as the Leicester City forward eyes scoring in his 11th straight game.

The Leicester forward has been the breakout star of the Premier League this season, with him currently leading the goalscoring charts by some distance.

Vardy has now scored in 10 straight games, equalling Ruud van Nistelrooy’s previous unchallenged record.

Saturday afternoon sees the Foxes host Van Nistelrooy’s former club, Manchester United, at the Kingpower Stadium, with Vardy looking to set a new record for consecutive goals scored.

Shearer and Hoddle have both wished him luck on Twitter ahead of the game.

Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 28 points from 13 matches.

Louis van Gaal’s United side are a point behind the Foxes in second place, with Manchester City and Arsenal both a point behind.
