Ronald Koeman sends message on Twitter after Southampton defeat

Southampton suffered a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City away from home in the Premier League today.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to his side’s defeat to Manchester City away from home today.

The Saints went down 3-1 to City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

Koeman was disappointed with the team’s performance in the first 20 minutes, but he was encouraged of what he saw from his team in the second half.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Etihad Stadium, Southampton had 54% of the possession, took 12 shots of which eight were on target, and earned four corners.

The Saints are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment with 20 points from 14 matches, just six points behind fourth-place Arsenal, who have a game in hand.

Southampton will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Liverpool at St. Mary’s Stadium in the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
