Celtic assistant boss John Collins has told The Scottish Sun that left back Kieran Tierney is 'playing like a £5m full back' having again impressed against Ajax.
Arkadiusz Milik and Vaclav Cerny hit back to give Ajax the win, meaning Celtic have been dumped out of the Europa League with just two points from five games.
The latest blow for manager Ronny Deila came just three months after missing out on qualification for the Champions League group stage, and fans are starting to turn against the Norwegian with no European football for the rest of the season.
On Friday though, assistant boss John Collins looked to try and point out one major positive, and that was left back Kieran Tierney.
The 18-year-old left back has come up through the ranks at Celtic, and whilst he went in to the season with no huge expectations, the young Scot has now become Celtic's first choice left back, usurping long-term first choice Emilio Izaguirre.
Collins has now raved about Tierney in an interview with The Scottish Sun, stating that the teenager is playing like a left back worth a whopping £5m after yet another impressive display against Ajax.
"The positive is Kieran Tierney. Nobody had heard of him two months ago, an 18-year-old playing like a £5m full-back. That’s positive, we want to talk about it," said Collins.
