The former forward has predicted a draw for his old club after the loss to Everton last weekend.
That puts them 11 points clear of Villa, who find themselves bottom of the table after a disastrous start to the season under Tim Sherwood.
They are winless since the opening day, with last weekend seeing them beaten 4-0 by Everton at Goodison Park.
And Dublin is not expecting that run to end this weekend against Sanchez Flores’ side.
“I expected Villa to get something away at Everton. Not to be, they got a bit of a lesson from the Toffees,” he told BreatheSport.
My prediction wasn't great last week! How can Villa do this weekend against Watford? https://t.co/CagewA7Gdy— Dion Dublin (@DionDublinsDube) November 27, 2015
“So this week, they’re against a Watford team doing incredibly well, they’re not too bad.”
“Villa are not in a good place. I think it will be a draw, which would be a great result for both team.”
After predicting an incorrect result for Villa last weekend, Villa fans will be hoping Dublin is proved wrong again.
There was great excitement after Remi Garde’s first game, the 0-0 draw with Manchester City, but that was quickly evaporated with the loss to the Toffees.
A win over Watford would go a long way to helping fans get over that disappointment as quickly as possible, with it essential they start picking up points sooner rather than later.
