Rio Ferdinand has advice for Jamie Vardy ahead of Leicester v Manchester United

Jamie Vardy

Leicester City will face Manchester United at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Rio Ferdinand has written in The Sun that Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy should try to make the most of the lack of pace of Manchester United’s Daley Blind.

Blind, who can play as a defensive midfielder, centre-back or left-back, is likely to start the Premier League game between Leicester and United at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening.

“If I was Claudio Ranieri I would be telling Vardy to run at Daley Blind from the word go,” former United defender Ferdinand has written in The Sun.

“Don’t get me wrong, Blind is a good player, but he lacks pace. So did I towards the end of my career so I had to either get tight on a quick attacker or drop deep to leave no room behind me.”

Vardy has been in superb form for Leicester so far this season and has been banging in the goals left, right and centre.

The 28-year-old striker has scored 13 goals and created 16 chances in 13 Premier League appearances so far this campaign.

Leicester are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 28 points from 13 matches.

Claudio Ranieri’s side are a point clear of United, who are currently second in the standings and are a point ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal, who are third and fourth respectively.
