Salvatore Sirigu is expected to leave PSG in January.
Villa and Newcastle both have reason to be looking at a potential goalkeeper signing.
Newcastle stopper Tim Krul has suffered yet another injury problem and Villa have been concerned with the performances of their first-choice stopper Brad Guzan.
Sirigu has lost his place at PSG, with summer signing Kevin Trapp taking over the goalkeeping duties.
So both Villa and Newcastle would seemingly have something of a free run at the Italian international come January.
However, they will have massive competition.
AC Milan are also interested in the player, as reported by L'Equipe.
The Rossoneri are looking for a new goalie after losing faith in Diego Lopez. Incredibly their current number one is Gianluigi Donnarumma - who at 16-years-old is just a schoolboy.
With that in mind the experienced keeper is said to be a target - but Milan are currently only considering a loan deal for the player.
If Villa and Newcastle really are keen on the player, they have some serious competition.
