Paul Merson has told Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, which was broadcast on November 21st, that Tottenham Hotspur are piecing together a brilliant squad.
Merson feels that Tottenham have gone from being a one-man team, to having a squad which is packed with quality in every area.
The former Arsenal midfielder believes that Mauricio Pochettino has assembled a very talented group of players at White Hart Lane, and he predicts that they will have a bright future.
“Not long ago, you said that Tottenham were a one-man team,” Merson said.
“Now, they have a world-class goalie. They have two unbelievable centre halves. They have one of the best holding midfield players in England, in [Eric] Dier.
“They have an unbelievable midfield player in [Dele] Alli, who runs and runs and runs. They have a good number 10.
“And then you have a top drawer centre forward. This Tottenham team is really coming together."
The strength of Tottenham’s current squad has been highlighted by the excellent start they have made to the current campaign.
The Lilywhites booked their place in the knockout stages of the Europa League by beating Qarabag 1-0 on Thursday evening.
Spurs’ next fixture comes against Chelsea on Sunday, and if they are able to win that match, they will strengthen their claims to a top-four finish this season.
