The former Arsenal man believes Liverpool can tear Swansea apart.
Liverpool are certainly enjoying themselves at the moment under the new management of Jurgen Klopp.
Last night they picked up a win against Bordeaux in the Europa League and at the weekend they thrashed title favourites Manchester City in the Premier League.
Their 4-1 win at The Etihad was perhaps their best performance yet under the management of the enigmatic German and it certainly shocked many a pundit.
One man who was surprised to see the way Liverpool tore City apart was Paul Merson. The Sky Sports pundit believes that if Liverpool put in a similar performance against Swansea City this weekend then The Reds will tear the Welsh side to shreds.
He wrote in his Sky Sports column:
"I got it horribly wrong last week with Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp did a job on Manchester City.
"But Liverpool have to get consistency. They're not a bad team, but their consistency levels haven't been great over the past 18 months. This is a game where they've got to win, and win quite comfortably.
"If they can start at a tempo like they did against City, they'll be all over Swansea and rip them to shreds. They can't let Swansea pass the ball about, but if they play anywhere near where they did last week, which was the performance of the week without doubt, they'll steamroll them."
Indeed if Liverpool's high pressing game is on point against Swansea this weekend then the style of play adopted by the Swans will not come up well against the rip-roaring approach of Klopp and Liverpool.
If they can repeat the performance of last weekend then there is no doubt that Swansea could be in trouble this weekend.
Garry Monk will be doing everything he can to prevent that from happening.
