The winger appears to be in no rush to return to Anfield.
The 18-year-old's time at Griffin Park is due to come to an end in January. However, Canos admitted that returning to Merseyside would not be his first choice.
"I don't know what I'm going to do [in January] but I want to stay here," he said.
"I want to keep playing in the Championship and hopefully at Brentford. For me this opportunity is amazing. I'm growing a lot as a player so I want to stay," he added.
The Spaniard has helped the Bees make a promising start to the season. Although he has started just one game for the club, Canos has remained as a regular member of the matchday squad, with 10 appearances coming from the substitutes' bench.
And he proved his value to the club in his most recent appearance. Having been brought on on the hour-mark during Brentford's game with Nottingham Forest, the youngster opened the scoring within three minutes in a game that Lee Carsley's men would go on to win 2-1.
While Anfield seems to be an exciting place to be around at the moment, with Jurgen Klopp continuing to work his magic on the Reds, Canos has clearly realised that his best chance to earn a first-team opportunity will come from proving himself elsewhere.
