Funes Mori urges Everton patience against Bournemouth

The Argentine defender thinks they have a good balance in the side this season.

Ramiro Funes Mori has told Everton’s official website that they must be patient against Bournemouth this weekend.

The Blues have started the season strongly, and currently sit in seventh place in the table, just six points from a Champions League spot.

They were in good form against relegation-threatened Aston Villa last weekend, coming away with a comfortable 4-0 win.

This weekend sees them travel to Bournemouth to take on another team at the bottom of the table.

And Funes Mori says they must remain patient, with the Cherries sure to try and frustrate their attacking players.

“We have a good balance in the team,” he told

“As a defence, we like to give the midfielders and the forwards good confidence because we know they can score goals,”

“We know Bournemouth will be a tough game but hopefully we can win it.”

“We can’t rush when it comes to scoring goals, we have to be patient and then take our opportunities when they arrive.”

Funes Mori and his side will be looking to secure all three points against Bournemouth to continue their push for a European place.

Given Chelsea’s fall this season, the top four is very much up for grabs for a number of sides, and there is no reason why Everton cannot be among that chasing pack.

Unlike Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, they do not have the burden of Europa League football to contend with, something that seriously hampered Roberto Martinez’s side last season.

With the likes of Ross Barkley, John Stones and Romelu Lukaku also in fine form this season, there is certainly every reason to believe that they can challenge for Champions League football.
