Matt Targett has been recorded scoring an absolutely stunning goal in Southampton training earlier today.
The left-back took aim with a 25-yard volley, after having a corner floated in towards him, and he slammed the ball into the back of the net.
It was a wonderful show of the defender’s technique, and Targett will be hoping that Ronald Koeman took note of the strike.

There are high hopes for Targett’s future at Southampton, but he has not made too much of an impact so far this season.
The youngster has been unable to displace Ryan Bertrand from Southampton’s first team, and has had to be patient in waiting for his chances.
The 20-year-old has not made a Premier League appearance since the middle of September, but if he keeps impressing in training then it will be hard for Koeman to ignore him.
Rather remarkably, given the long-range shooting ability he displayed in the video above, Targett has not hit the back of the net in his Southampton career to date.
The England youth international has played 23 times for the Saints so far, and he will hope to add to that tally as the season progresses.
