Celtic have failed to progress to the knockout stages of the Europa League this season.
The Scottish Premiership giants suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ajax at Celtic Park in Group A on Thursday evening.
Callum McGregor put Celtic in the lead after just three minutes, but Arkadiusz Milik restored parity midway through the first half when he found the target from close range with an acrobatic effort.
Vaclav Cerny won the three points for Frank de Boer’s side three minutes from full time.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Celtic Park, Celtic had 41% of the possession, took 14 shots of which six were on target, and earned four corners.
Celtic could have won the match against Ajax, but they missed a number of very good chances.
Failure to pick up all three points against the Eredivisie side means that the Hoops are now out of the Europa League.
The mood in the Celtic camp is now of disappointment and is perfectly encaptured in the two photos shown here (above and below).
