Remi Garde has told Aston Villa’s official website that he has been very pleased with the way his players have trained this week.
Villa’s morale is likely to be low, considering the fact that they have failed to win any of their last 12 Premier League matches.
However, Garde says that the entire Claret and Blues’ squad have been impressive in training, and they are trying to take on board his messages.
“I appreciate having all my squad for the training sessions,” Garde said.
“We have been working hard. I am still very pleased with the way we train, the way they are committed in the training sessions.
“I know it's quite new in terms of the way we train and the exercises we are doing in the sessions because every manager has his own way of training.
“They have settled in very well in terms of what I have been asking of them.”
Garde’s initial impact at Villa was good, as he helped the side pick up a 0-0 draw with Manchester City in his first match in the dugout.
However, last weekend, the Midlands side were hammered by Everton, and all of their old flaws were on display again.
Villa were beaten 4-0 by the Toffees, and they never posed a threat in the match – leaving serious questions being asked of the squad.
The defeat leaves Villa sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, and they are already five points away from safety.
Garde’s side’s next match comes against Watford this weekend, and if they fail to win, they are in danger of getting cast adrift.
