“Hopes that Villa may have turned the corner under new manager Remi Garde after a 0-0 draw against Man City were somewhat dashed when they were hammered 4-0 at Everton on Saturday, and you have to fear for them,” the former England international wrote on Colossusbets.com. “And they have only scored three goals in six home games.
“Watford have done equally as well on the road as at home this season, and only went down to an injury-time goal against Man Utd last week.
“My first instincts are that this a low-scoring draw, either 1-1 or 0-0, but if there is to be a winner it may be Watford 1-0.”
Villa are at the foot of the Premier League table with just five points from 13 matches.
The Villans are five points behind 17th-place Newcastle United and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Remi Garde’s side will head into Saturday afternoon’s game against Watford on the back of a 4-0 defeat to Everton away from home at Goodison Park.
Meanwhile, Watford, who got promoted from the Championship at the end of last season, are doing quite well.
The Hornets are seven points above the Premier League relegation zone and have a good chance of avoiding the drop.
