Former Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has predicted on Colossusbets.com that Aston Villa, Sunderland and Bournemouth will get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.
Villa are at the foot of the league table at the moment, with Bournemouth and Sunderland just above them.
“At the other end of the table, I think Aston Villa, Sunderland and Bournemouth are the likeliest relegation candidates at the moment, though Big Sam will no doubt have his side believing once again after their unexpected 1-0 win at Palace on Monday night,” Owen wrote on Colossusbets.com.
Newcastle and Norwich City should also be considered as candidates for relegation to the Championship at the end of the season.
While the Magpies are just a point above the bottom three in 17th, Norwich are three points above the drop zone.
There is a long way to go this season, and it is not easy to call the bottom three right now.
Villa are struggling at the moment, but in Remi Garde they have a very good and tactically strong manager.
Sam Allardyce knows all about survival in the Premier League, and his mere presence at Sunderland certainly gives the Black Cats a chance of staying up.
Bournemouth have been hit by injuries, but when boss Eddie Howe has all of his players fit, the Cherries do not look like a Championship team at all.
Many will claim that Newcastle are too good to go down, but the players have been under-performing all season and things could go from bad to worse.
