Midfielder Allan joined Scottish Premiership giants Celtic from Scottish Championship outfit Hibernian in the summer transfer window.
Much was expected of the 23-year-old Scotsman, but he has struggled for playing time at the Bhoys.
Injuries and good form of his Celtic teammates have restricted Allan to just 40 minutes of action for Ronny Deila’s side so far this season.
However, the former West Bromwich Albion prospect could make an appearance for Celtic against Ajax at Celtic Park in the Europa League Group A this evening due to injuries to Scott Brown and Kris Commons and suspensions of Nir Bitton and Stefan Johansen.
Celtic striker Griffiths believes that Allan will do well if he gets to play against Ajax this evening and has told The Daily Record: “If the manager decides to throw Scotty in I am sure he will do a good job.
“The position Scotty plays in has made it difficult for him in terms of games. He can play a couple of roles but when you look at the likes of Stefan and Broony then it has been hard to get in.
“I’m sure he will take his chance when he gets it. He has been looking really sharp in training, always trying to get on the ball and make things happen. If he gets the shout against Ajax then he will be looking to impress the manager.”
Celtic are at the foot of the Europa League Group A with just two points from four matches, three points behind second-place Fenerbahce.
