The Hammers are looking to bounce back from the 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Slaven Bilic’s side are currently on a run of three games without a victory in the Premier League, having started the season strongly.
Their last defeat was their most disappointing to date, having been soundly beaten 4-1 by rivals Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
Kouyate was a part of that game, and was unlucky to not find himself on the score sheet when he hit the crossbar with a scissor kick.
He is determined not to be on the losing side again this weekend, and has promised a battle from him and the rest of the side against the Baggies.
“Last week was a bad week,” he told whufc.com.
“We just have to forget this game, all the players and supporters, and look forward to the West Bromwich game. West Ham need the victory and need the points and we will go into battle to earn the three points.”
One player who is being sorely missed from the Hammers side is star man Dimitri Payet, with him set to spell an extended spell on the sidelines.
The Frenchman has been the creative force in their side since arriving over the summer, with a lot of their best work having come through him.
With him absent through injury, though, they may have to change approach in an effort to get the best out of the players that are available, notably Andy Carroll.
His strength is certainly in the air, and perhaps going back to the long-ball football they’re trying to escape, for a short period at least, may help them to get back to winning ways.
