Daniel Sturridge says Jordon Ibe tries to claim it was not his tackle that recently crocked him

The pair are good friends but recently tensions have been, jokingly, frayed.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has had a rough time with injuries in recent seasons and his most recent ailment was caused after a collision with his good friend Jordon Ibe during a training session at Melwood.

It was an incident that saw him ruled out for several weeks and the England striker has now stated that Ibe even tries to deny it was him.

Speaking to Soccer AM at the weekend the striker stated:

"I mean he tries to claim it wasn't him. We both know.

"But banter aside that's my brother. There's unfortunate incidents that occur in training, It's what it is. It's a game situation on the training pitch.

The pair have formed a special bond at the club and with Sturridge's former best mate Raheem Sterling now at Manchester City he has taken to looking out for the former Wycombe Wanderers player in the early stages of his career.

He stated:

"As I say that's my brother and I have got a lot of love for him. I take him under my wing. When I was his age I didn't necessarily have a player that would try and help me every single day ... and that's what I try to do with him."

Ibe has really improved since Jurgen Klopp arrived at the club and it seems as though the German sees him as a real player for the future of the club.

With Sturridge helping him out hopefully he can make it at Anfield.
