Birmingham City have agreed a deal to sign Rotherham United defender Greg Halford, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Birmingham boss Gary Rowett revealed earlier on Thursday he was hoping to bring in some new signings and it is understood that Halford is set to be one of the mystery additions.
Halford has found himself out of favour at Rotherham since joining the club on a free transfer in the summer following his departure from Nottingham Forest.
The 30-year-old has made only five starts in the Championship for Rotherham and Millers boss Neil Redfearn is happy to let Halford go out on loan.
Halford, who began his career at Colchester, has a wealth of experience having played in the Premier League for Reading, Sunderland and Wolves in his career
Halford is set to become one of two new signings by Birmingham before the close of the emergency loan window with Huddersfield Town striker James Vaughan also poised to move to St Andrew's on loan.
